Southfork State Recreation Area Overview

South Fork State Recreation Area East Campground has 24 full hookup campsites overlooking the scenic South Fork Reservoir. Two group campsites are also available at East Campground.

The campground is open year round. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, flush toilets, hot-water showers, trash collection (dumpsters) and a dump station for RVs.

Other Southfork SRA camping areas include Southwest Shores (1 primitive site), Southwest Shores Coyote Cove (15 primitive sites), Southwest Shores Jet Ski Beach (10 primitive sites) and Tomera Cove (1 primitive group site).

The East Campground campsites are large with plenty of room between neighbors. All campsites have full hookups, a parking spur, shade structure, table, fire ring and grill.

South Fork State Recreation Area

The Recreation Area includes 1,650 acres and is surrounded by over 2000 acres of meadow lands and rolling hills. It is popular for camping, fishing, boating, water sports, hunting, wildlife viewing and other summer and winter sports. It is most famous for its trout and bass fishing on Southfork State Reservoir with the Humboldt River being the main tributary.  Other outdoor recreation includes mountain biking, hiking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
