Catherine Creek State Park Overview

Catherine Creek State Park campground has 20 spacious campsites set among towering ponderosa pines and near the crystal-clear waters of Catherine Creek in northeast Oregon. All sites are first-come, first-serve.

The well-maintained campground is generally open early May to mid October. Amenities include water (spigots throughout the campground), restrooms (flush toiles & sinks), and trash dumpsters. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host when campfires are allowed. Two reservable group picnic areas are also available.

Campsites are very large and level. They can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site has a parking spur (sites 7 to 11 are very long and sites 5 and 15 are pull through), table, fire ring and grill.  The large trees also provide great shade to all sites.

Catherine Creek State Park – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.  The creek is beautiful and a hiking trail goes above the camp on the opposite side of the creek for a couple of miles.

The park is a gateway to many regional attractions: visit the Union County Museum in Union or the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center near Baker City, or visit one of the many historic cemeteries in the area.
