Dixie (OR) Overview
Dixie Campground has 9 small (first-come, first serve) campsites in a forested area near Prairie City. The campsites are spaced out and have nice privacy, but are best suited for tent or small RVs.
The campground is usually open early May through October. Water is not available, but a vault toilet is on site. Cell service is not available. You can get firewood and supplies over in Prairie City (10 miles away). Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grill.
Dixie Campground – Area Recreation & Activities
Outdoor recreation in the area includes hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The Sumpter Valley Interpretive Trail, Davis Creek Trail as well as other great recreational activities are just a short drive from the campground.
Other campgrounds in the general area include Oregon, Yellow Pine and Wetmore. You might also like Bates State Park.
