House Rock Overview

House Rock Campground has 17 campsites set in an old growth forest of towering Douglas Fir, and next to the confluence of Sheep Creek and the South Santiam River.

The campground has an upper and lower loop with several sites along or near the creek. Sites 1-7 are near the creek, 8-11 on hill over creek, and 12-18 the near creek. Campsites can accommodate tents, and small trailers/RVs. Each site also has a parking spur, table, fire ring and grill. Hookups are not available.

The seasonal campground is generally open early April to late September. Amenities include drinking water (hand pump), 2 vault toilets and trash collection (dumpsters). Camp roads and parking spurs are gravel.  Cell service is not available in the area.

Other nearby campgrounds include Sevenmile, Lost Prairie Group Site, Yukwah and Trout Creek.

House Rock Campground – Area Recreation and Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, kayaking, swimming, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. In addition to the House Rock Trail, hikers have access to a variety of other trails in the Tombstone Pass Area, like the Iron Mountain Trail.
