Mazama Overview

Mazama Campground has 214 campsites and is located 7 miles south of Rim Village in Crater Lake National Park. The campground is open only during the summer, with reservations available in July, August and September.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (50 feet maximum / some have electric hookups). Each campsite also has a food storage locker, table, fire ring, and grill. Campsites can accommodate up to 8 people and 2 vehicles. Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, an RV dump station, showers ($), laundry facilities, a general store, and a gas station. In addition, there is an amphitheater and visitor center.

Mazama Area Recreation

The main attraction is visiting the spectacular Crater Lake. Hiking and photography are amazing. Other outdoor recreation in the area includes backpacking, hiking, fishing, biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.  There’s also some nice exhibits at the visitor center and evening ranger programs at the amphitheater.

Other campgrounds in the area include Rogue Elk, Farewell Bend, Hamaker and Lost Creek (Crater Lake).
