Aiken State Park Overview
Aiken State Park Campground has 25 campsites with water & electric hookups and is located next to the South Fork of the Edisto River. Primitive Group camping is also available. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Some sites can accommodate RVs up to 35 feet.
Campground amenities include potable (water), flush toilets, hot-water showers, trash collection (dumpsters) and an RV dump station. Wifi is not available. Each campsite also has a parking spur, table, fire ring and grate. There’s also a park store/gift shop and playground. Cell service is fair in the area.
Aiken State Park – Area Recreation
Popular outdoor activities include fishing, canoeing and kayaking on the South Edisto River. Visitors can also enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, picnicking, horeshoes, geocaching and wildlife viewing.
You may also like Dreher Island State Park to the north (by Columbia), or Barnwell State Park.

Cell service at Aiken State Park is fair with Verizon, but not with any other providers.
We stayed in June 2026. T-mobile cell service was fine. It was very hot and the swimming area had a tendency to get a little crowded with day use people. Campground host was very friendly and helpful. Camp store is opened 2 hours a day. Dollar General is 5 minutes away and has most any supplies you would need.
