Hickory Knob State Park Overview

Hickory Knob State Park campground has 44 campsites (with electric hookups) and is located next to beautiful Strom Thurmond Lake.  Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Several sites are along the lakeshore and most sites have nice shade from a forest of tall trees. In addition to hookups, campsites also have a parking spur, table, fire ring and grate. Group camping and cabins are also available for rent.

The campground is open year round. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, flush toilets, hot-water showers, trash collection (dumpsters) and an RV dump station. There’s also a camp store, laundry facility, Wifi and friendly camp host.

Hickory Knob State Park – Area Recreation

Hickory Knob State Park has a visitor center, a cafe/restaurant, marina, boat ramp, picnic area, skeet shooting, archery, tennis courts and archery. There’s also an 18-hole championship golf course – so bring your sticks!  Other outdoor recreation includes boating, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, water skiing, jet skiing and wildlife viewing.

Two other campgrounds in the area include Hawe Creek and Hamilton Branch State Park.
