Paris Mountain State Park Overview

Paris Mountain State Park is located in the forested foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Upstate region of South Carolina. The campground has 39 campsites with water & electric hookups (30-amp), and 5 primitive walk-to campsites. Cabins are also available.

The campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (35 to 4o feet). Thirteen of these have tent pads. Each campsite also has a paved parking spur, table, fire ring and grate.

The campground is open year round. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, flush toilets, hot-water showers ($), trash collection (dumpsters) and a dump station. There’s also a park store/gift shop, playground, EV charging station, and a WiFi is available at the Park Center office and lodge at Camp Buckhorn. Cell service is fair in the area.

Paris Mountain State Park – Area Recreation & Activities

The Park has a few lakes including, Buckhorn, Lake Placid and Reservoir #3 (reached by a 2 mile hike). Fishing, boating, canoeing and kayaking are popular. Canoe and kayak rentals are available on weekends. Other activities include hiking, mountain biking (but not on Saturday), picnicking and wildlife viewing.

Paris Mountain State Park’s roots date as far back as the Great Depression, when it was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. This heritage can still be seen in the preserved stone and timber outside of the renovated bathhouse, now known as the Park Center. Inside, the center features historical exhibits and a classroom to teach young and old about the park’s ecology.
