Randall Creek Recreation Area Overview

Randall Creek Recreation Area campground has 132 campsites and is located on the banks of the Missouri River, downstream from Fort Randall Dam. All sites have electric hookups. Cabins and group camping are also available.

The seasonal campground is open May 1 to September 30.  Amenities include potable (drinking) water, flush & vault toilets, hot-water showers, trash collection and an RV dump station. There’s also a playground, picnic area and boat ramp. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a paved parking spur, table, fire ring and grill.

The campground is closed during the Bald Eagle nesting season (Oct 1 through April).

Randall Creek Recreation Area

The area is famous for the Lewis and Clark expedition, which came up the river in August of 1804.  Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, water sports, hiking, biking, hunting, picnicking, disc golf and wildlife viewing. The area offers great fishing, boating, hunting and wildlife viewing. There’s also a trapshooting/rifle range.

North Point Recreation Area is also nearby.
