Fall Creek Falls State Park Campground Tennessee

Fall Creek Falls State Park Overview

Fall Creek Falls State Park is the largest (30,000 acres) and most popular state park in Tennessee.  The park features spectacular waterfalls, gorges, streams, a lake, golf course and lush stands of virgin hardwood timber.

Fall Creek Falls State Park Camping & Lodging

The campground has 214 campsites in 5 different areas, group camping, 10 cabins, a lodge (85 rooms) and 16 backcountry sites. The park also manages Virgin Falls State Natural Area which has 14 campsites divided into four areas: Martha’s Pretty Point, Cable Crossing, Caney Fork and Virgin Falls.

All of the 202 developed campsites have water & electric hookups and 108 have full hookups. Each site also has a paved parking spur, table, fire ring and grill. There are also 12 primitive sites (no hookups) for tent camping only. Nine of these are primitive (walk-to) sites that are in the woods and a few hundred yards from the parking area. In addition, there are 16 backcountry sites are in 4 different areas along the overnight backpacking trails.

Group camping consists of 4 individual group-camping tent sites. Each site has a water spigot, a couple of charcoal grills, and enough room for probably 75 people per site. All 4 sites share 1 large bath house that has a men’s and women’s side. It has toilets and sinks, but no showers. There is also electricity at the bathhouse.

Campground amenities include drinking water, restrooms with flush toilets, showers/bathhouse, trash collection and a dump station. Ice and firewood are available to purchase year-round. The park also has a laundry, camp store, restaurant, picnic areas, snack bar (at the Village pool), 2 gift shops, sports fields and a golf course.
