Guadalupe Mountains National Park Overview

Guadalupe Mountains National Park (Pine Springs) Campground has 39 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs near the HQ Visitor Center. All camping is first-come first-served (no reservations). There are 20 sites for tent camping set among small junipers and oaks. Each of the tents sites have a table. The RV camping area has 19 sites in a paved parking area. There are no hookups, tables or dump station in the RV camping area. Water is available for a faucet near the registration board. Wood or charcoal fires are not permitted in either camping area. Restrooms have water and flush toilets, but no showers. Group campsites are also available at Pine Springs and Dog Canyon. Equestrian camping is available at Frijole Ranch.
Hueco Tanks State Park is also 90 miles to the west toward El Paso.
Guadalupe Mountains National Park Area Recreation
The Park features the world’s most extensive Permian fossil reef. It also encompasses 86,416 acres with elevations ranging from 3,650 to 8,748 feet at the summit of Guadalupe Peak, highest point in Texas. Four of the state’s highest peaks are in the park, as well as many other unnamed peaks more than 8,000 feet tall, deep canyons and a rare mixture of plant and animal life. Forests of ponderosa pines mingle with aspens, maples, mountain junipers and madrones, with abundant deer and elk grazing in the upland meadows.
