Rio Grande Village Overview

Rio Grande Village campground has 100 single-family campsites and is located on the banks of the Rio Grand River in Big Bend National Park. Group camping is also available.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each campsites has a parking spur, table, food storage locker and charcoal grill (no wood fires permitted). Some sites also have a shade ramada.  Parking spurs range in length from 25 to 50 feet. Please look carefully at each campsite photo, as low hanging branches persist in the campground and not all sites are suitable for tall or long RVs and trailers.

The campground is open year round.  Amenities include potable (drinking) water, flush toilets, trash collection (dumpsters) and an RV dumpstation. There are also showers, laundry facilities and a camp store just outside of the campground. Cell service is not available.

The campground is first-come, first-served basis for most of the year, but 43 sites can be reserved from mid November to mid April.

Outdoor recreation includes hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking, picnicking, photography and wildlife viewing.
