Goblin Valley State Park Campground has 25 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs that are set in a valley of strange and unusual rock sculptures resembling mischievous goblins.  The Park is about 3.6 acres and set in a valley that’s about a mile across and two miles long filled with the mushroom-shaped formations. You’ll also see colorful orange-brown boulders, balanced rocks, spires and pedestals that were carved by wind and water.

Goblin Valley State Park campground has paved roads and parking pads, drinking water and modern restrooms with flush toilets and hot showers. The campground also has an RV dump station.  Each campsite is quite large and has a table, fire ring and grate. Some of the campsites have shade structures. Yurt campsites are also available.

Outdoor activities include hiking, biking, disc golf, off-roading, wildlife viewing and stargazing.Goblin Valley was also recognized by the National Park Services’ Night Sky Team as having one of the darkest night skies on earth. Another side trip is to hike through Little Wild Horse (slot) Canyon. It’s a short five mile drive from Goblin Valley.

Fruita Campground in Capitol Reef National Park is 57 miles away. It has 71 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs.

Directions:

Goblin Valley State Park is located in Emery County between the towns of Green River and Hanksville. From Green River, travel west on I-70 for 12 miles to exit 147 (Hanksville) and head south. After about 30 miles turn right at the Temple Mountain/Goblin Valley Junction. The entire road leading into the park is surfaced and improved. Travel west on that road for about 5 miles and then turn left (south) and continue to the park entrance.
