Lower Onion Creek Overview

Lower Onion Creek Campground Colorado River Scenic

Lower Onion Creek Campground is next to the Colorado River has 21 single-family campsites with spectacular views of Fisher Towers and the areas red rock formations. The single-family campsites are first-come, first-serve. Two group campsites are also available and can be reserved.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Single family campsites can have up to 2 vehicles and 10 people per site. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Campground amenities include vault toilets and trash collection. Potable (drinking) water is not available.  There are also two boat ramps at the campground. Cell service is poor.

Lower Onion Creek Group campsites can accommodate from 15 to 30 people. No water is available, but they do have tables, vault toilets, shade shelters, fire ring and grills.

Other campgrounds in the area include Hittle Bottom and Dewey Bridge. Both are next to the Colorado River.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes rafting, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking, OHV trail riding, stargazing, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The town of Moab is also about 40 minutes away and has dining, shopping, sports rentals, tour companies and museums.
