Northwest River Park Overview

Northwest River Park 004

Northwest River Park and Campground has 76 campsites in a forested area in Southeastern Chesapeake, VA.  The city managed park includes 763 acres and a wonderful blend of natural beauty and recreational activities.

Although the park is open year-round, the campground is open April 1 through November 30.  The 70 single-family campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs.  There are 44 sites with electric hookups. Equestrian camping, group camping (6 sites) and 2 cabins are also available.

Campground/park amenities include drinking water, restrooms with flush toilets, hot-water showers, laundry facility, a dump station and trash collection. Cell service is also good in the area.  The campground/park also has a playground, picnic shelter, camp store, 18-hole disc golf course, minature golf course, horseshoes, volleyball nets, multi-use trails and boat rentals.

The cabins come complete with sink, microwave oven, refrigerator, rustic log furniture, queen-size bed, full-size sleeper futon sofa, and, of course, heating and air-conditioning. Pets are not permitted in cabins.

The Equestrian Area campground is open only on Friday and Saturday nights; Sundays on holiday weekends only. Facilities include restrooms and potable water.
