Peaks Of Otter Overview

Peaks of Otter Campground has 143 campsites located close to Abbot Lake and is nestled between three mountains near the Peaks Of Otter Recreation Area. A crystal-clear mountain stream also winds through the campground.

In addition to the 60 sites available for advance reservation, there are 79 first-come, first-served campsites available.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a parking spur, table, lantern post, fire ring and grill. Old-growth hardwood trees also provide nice shade to most sites. Cell service is poor in the area.

The seasonal campground is usually open mid May to late October. Amenities include potable drinking water (water spigots), flush toilets, trash recycling and an RV dump station. There’s also a visitor center, general store, day-use/picnic area and some nice hiking trails including those to Harkening Hill (3,372 feet), Sharp Top Mountain (3,875 feet), and Flat Top Mountain with a summit of 4,001 feet.
