Coho Overview
Coho Campground has 46 campsites and is located in the Olympic National Forest along the west shore of Wynoochee Lake. The campsites are laid out in two loops among a forest of evergreen conifers and hardwoods. Three Yurts are also available. Group camping and 9 walk-in tent camping units are also available. One of the walk-to sites can accommodate up to 12 people. The two group sites will accommodate up to 16 people each.
The three yurt sites will accommodate up to a maximum of six people and two vehicles per site. There is a short walk of 300-500 feet to reach each yurt. Yurt sites #57 and #58 do not allow additional tents, trailers, or RV camping. Yurt site #50 will accommodate an additional tent. The yurts are non-smoking units .
The campground is usually open mid-May to early October. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, flush toilets and trash collection. A boat ramp is also next to the campground. The nearest dump station is just outside the campground on Forest Road 2294 and the closest showers are a Satsop. Ice and firewood are also available for purchase from the camp host. Cell service is not available.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 36 feet). Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grill.
Area Recreation & Activities
Outdoor recreation in the area include boating, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, fishing, hunting, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
You may also like Willaby, Falls Creek or Gatton Creek. All are over next to Lake Quinauilt.

For the most part, a lovely campground. Well spaced, clean, beautiful. The hosts in 2024 were great. The ugly part is the forest service allows V8 thunderbolts to race the lake. So loud and disruptive. Not sure I’ll go back.
All sites are labeled handicap.
Can never get a site. In Washington state it is illegal to camp in a handicap spot without a placard.
Propper id. Just like shopping mall. If site is posted handicap. It is illegal to park. We live out of town. Long drive up if no spots available.

Yes, that’s pretty strange that they have each site (on Rec.gov) listed as a handicap site (ADA). I have not seen that before. We have a US Forest service phone number you can try: (360) 765-2200. This is for the Hood Canal Ranger District (responsible for Coho campground). I also recommend calling Rec.gov to see what they say about all sites being listed as handicapped. Rec.gov number: (888) 448-1474.
