Wanapum State Park Overview

Wanapum State Park has 52 campsites and is located on the shoreline of the Wanapum Reservoir (aka Columbia River). There are 50 full hookup sites and 2 hiker/biker sites.

The campground is open year round. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, flush toilets, hot-water showers and trash collection. The park also has a double-lane boat ramp, boat trailer lot, swim beach, picnic area and multi-use trails. Each campsite also has a parking spur (up to 60 ft.), table, fire ring and grill. Cell service is fair in the area.

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, kayaking, paddle-boarding, fishing, swimming, hiking, biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

Visit nearby Gingko Petrified Forest Interpretive Center to learn about the Ice Age Floods, view the Columbia River and petrified wood from the Ginkgo lava flow. Hike Ginkgo Petrified Forest State Park to get a closer look of petrified wood, a prehistoric lake and local flora and fauna.
