Glade Creek Campground New River Scenic

Glade Creek Campground in New River Gorge National Park is in a forested area next to the New River and has 11 first-come first-serve campsites. There are 5 drive-in sites (tents, trailers and RVs) and 6 walk-to tent only sites.

The campground is open year round. Amenities include vault toilets and trash collection (dumpsters). Cell service is also fair in the area. There is also a small boat launch at the campground.

The drive-in campsites have a gravel parking spur (up to 31 ft. in length), table, BBQ pedestal, fire ring and grill. Large RVs or trailers are not recommended. Up to 2 vehicles and 8 people are allowed per site. Pets are okay too.

Glade Creek Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

New River Gorge National Park and Preserve protects and preserves 53 miles of the New River as well as over 70,000 acres of the magnificent gorge that this river created. There area also 4 visitor centers in the park.

Outdoor recreation in the area includes rafting, kayaking, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, hunting, picnicking and stargazing. Wildlife viewing is also great with opportunities to see many forest creatures.

Other New River Gorge National Park drive-in campgrounds include Army Camp, Grandview Sandbar and War Ridge.

Other primitive campgrounds include Stone Cliff Beach, Brooklyn, Thayer, Meadow Creek and Gauley Tailwaters.
