Trail Creek (WY) Overview

Trail Creek Campground has 11 single-family campsites along Trail Creek and just off the Teton Pass Highway. It’s also right next to the Idaho/Wyoming border. The forested area provides nice shade to the campsites.

The campground is seasonal and usually open mid May to early September. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, vault toilets and trash collection (dumpsters). Firewood is also available to purchase from the friendly camp host. Cell service is poor in the area.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site has a parking spur, table, food storage locker, fire ring and grill. The parking spurs range in length from 20 to 40 feet.

Trail Creek Campground – Area Recreation and Activities

The creek offers fishing for Yellowstone cutthroat and brook trout. Hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding are popular activities on the nearby Mikesell Canyon Trail, which begins 2 miles away at Mike Harris Campground.  Wildlife viewing i9s also good with opportunities to see a variety of forest creatures like including moose and deer. Summer wildflowers are abundant.
