Fishlake National Forest

Fishlake National Forest Utah

Fishlake National Forest Overview

Fishlake National Forest includes 1.8-million-acres in central Utah and is known for its scenic mountain ranges, lakes and diverse outdoor recreation opportunities. The forest is named after Fish Lake, Utah’s largest natural mountain lake, which sits at an elevation of more than 8,800 feet.  The forest is also home to the famous Pando Aspen Clone, one of the largest and oldest living organisms on Earth.

Fishlake National Forest Camping

The national forest offers extensive camping opportunities, with approximately 29 developed campgrounds. There aer also numerous dispersed camping areas throughout the forest. Campgrounds range from lakeside sites with modern amenities to more secluded mountain settings. Most developed campgrounds provide picnic tables, fire rings, drinking water, and restroom facilities. Reservations are available for many campgrounds, while others operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
