Nebraska National Forests and Grasslands include the Nebraska National Forest, Samuel R. McKelvie National Forest, Buffalo Gap National Grassland, Fort Pierre National Grassland and Oglala National Grassland.

Outdoor recreation includes hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, picnicking and wildlife viewing.  There are also developed campgrounds, dispersed camping and group camping available. A few popular camping areas include Buffalo Gap and Toadstool Geologic Park.
