Meeks Bay Resort Overview
Meeks Bay Resort has 77 campsites and is located on the west shore of beautiful Lake Tahoe approximately 10 miles south of Tahoe City and eight miles north of Emerald Bay. Meeks Bay Campground (south of Meeks Creek) is now part of Meeks Bay Resort. The resort is located on National Forest lands and is operated under a special use permit by the Washoe Tribe of California and Nevada.
Accommodations include the historic Kehlet Mansion and the Washoe House, several cabins and lodges, full hookup RV spots and standard tent campsites.
The resort is generally open mid May to mid October. Amenities include, water, flush toilets, hot-water showers, trash collection, a restaurant, gift shop, swim beach, kayak/boat rentals and a picnic area. The campsites also have a table, food storage locker, fire ring and grill.
Lodging
The Kehlet Mansion provides seven bedrooms, three bathrooms and a full size kitchen. Enjoy the private deck, picture windows, and a full event area for weddings, reunions and sepcial events.
The Washoe House, also known as the Point House, offers three bedrooms, one bathroom, and a separate studio cabin. Located on the south shore of the bay, it offers unmatched privacy.
12 Lodges with studio, one and two bedroom floorplans. All units have kitchens with utensils and cookware.
7 standalone cabins with studio, one and two bedroom floorplans. All cabins also have kitchens stocked with utensils and cookware.
Camping:
14 Non-electric campsites for tents and small pop-up trailers found north of Meeks Creek.
40 Non-electric campsites for tents and small pop-up trailers on the southern side of the Meeks Creek.
23 RV sites with full hookups north on the northern side of Meeks Creek. Several are pull through and can accommodate up to 60 feet of tow vehicle and RV.
Meeks Bay Resort – Area Recreation & Attractions
Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, fishing, swimming, paddle-boarding, kayaking, water sports, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. There are also many shops, stores, restaurants, casinos and other attractions in the area.
