American Forks Overview

American Forks Campground Sign

American Forks Campground has 12 single-family campsites and is located along the banks of the American River and near Bumping River in the eastern Cascade Mountains. There are 8 reservable campsites and 4 first-come, first-serve sites. Most sites are also shaded by an old-growth forest of Douglas fir, western hemlock and cedar trees.

Campground amenities include vault toilets. Water is not available. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 30 feet). Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate. Cell service is not available in the area.

Area Recreation & Activities

In the summer, visitors can enjoy excellent fishing, rafting, kayaking, hiking, hunting, horseback riding and mountain biking. Winter outdoor recreation includes cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. Nearby Bumping Lake offers boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing and swimming. Wildlife viewing is also very good in the area.

You may also like nearby Cedar Springs campground. Indian Flat (group) campground is also nearby.
