Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest Overview

Okanogan‑Wenatchee National Forest is one of the largest and most ecologically diverse national forests in the United States. Managed by the U.S. Forest Service, it spans roughly 3.8 million acres across the east slopes of the Cascade Range in Washington State — stretching from the Canadian border in the north down toward the Yakama Indian Reservation in the south and encompassing a remarkable range of landscapes and outdoor experiences.

Okanogan‑Wenatchee National Forest – Outdoor Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation includes hiking & backpacking to alpine lakes, ridgelines, and peaks.
Camping in also available in more than 100 developed campgrounds and abundant dispersed (primitive) camping sites. Other popular activitioes include fishing, climbing, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Winter recreation includes snowshoeing and cross-country skiing when snow blankets the mountains.
