Jacob Lake Overview

Jacob Lake Campground has 51 campsites and is located just 44 miles from the North Rim entrance to the Grand Canyon. It is also about a mile from Jacob Lake (water levels vary).  and about a mile from Jacob Lake.  Group camping is also available. There are no hookups.

The campground is open mid-May to mid-October and is adjacent to the highway. Some campsites are next to the road.   Amenities include a campfire center, potable (drinking) water, vault toilets and trash collection. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host. There’s also a restaurant, gift shop/store and gas station across the street.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each campsite has a parking spur, table, lantern post, fire ring and grate.

Jacob Lake Recreation area is the gateway to the Grand Canyon’s North Rim and is a good alternate if the North Rim Campground is full. Outdoor activities in the area include hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and wildlife viewing.

Demotte Campground is also just 17 miles away. It has 38 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs.
