Bootleg Overview

Bootleg campground has 63 single-family campsites and offers some quiet camping among towering Jeffrey Pines on a hill above the Walker River. The campground is usually open late May to Mid September and is first-come, first-serve. It offers a very peaceful setting and the campsites are relatively large and spread out.
Campground amenities include drinking water and flush toilets. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate.
Bootleg – Area Recreation
Outdoor recreation in the area includes hiking, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
You may also be interested in Chris Flat campground. It’s two miles south on Highway 395 and along the Walker River.
