Cal-Ida Overview

Cal-Ida Campground has 12 nice campsites located right along Fiddle Creek and near the North Yuba River. Keep your eyes out for otters and they have been re-introduced to the river a few years back. There’s also a nice swimming hole right near campsite #11 and #12!

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Most sites have nice shade from oak, maple and locust trees. Each site also has a gravel parking area, table, food storage box, fire ring and grate.  Amenities include potable (drinking) water, vault toilets and trash collection. Overflow parking is also available. Cell service is not available.

Cal-Ida Campground Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. OHV trail riding is also popular with easy access to Forest Road S490 that leads up the hill. Seasonal kayaking and rafting are also popular in the river.

The historic gold rush town of Downieville is also just 13 miles away.

Other campgrounds in the area include Carlton, Fiddle Creek, Rocky Rest, Ramshorn,  Union Flat and Indian Valley.
