Rocky Rest Overview

Rock Rest Campground has 10 single-family campsites on a forested ridge above the North Yuba River in the Tahoe National Forest. Take the bridge over to the river and you’ll find some fine swimming holes.

Most campsites are small but can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 30 feet).  Each site has parking spur, table, food storage box, fire ring and grate. The parking spurs range in length from 10 feet to 30 feet long. Hookups are not available. The campground is seasonal and usually open late April to late October. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, vault toilets and trash collection. Cell service is not available.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, mountain biking, OHV trail riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Seasonal kayaking and rafting are also popular in the area.

Other campgrounds in the area include Cal-Ida, Carlton, Fiddle Creek  and Indian Valley.
