Cool Springs Campground Lassen National Forest California

Cool Springs Overview

Cool Springs Campground Water Spigot and Toilets

Cool Springs Campground is located right next to beautiful Butt Reservoir and has 33 spacious campsites underneath towering pines. Most are reservable but there are some first-come first-served sites. Campsites 1-25 are near the lake and sites 26-30 (walk-to / tent only) are across the road. The walk from the parking area to the tent sites ranges from about 20 to 200 feet.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs.  Each site has paved parking spur (up to 40 feet in length), table, food storage locker (bear box), fire ring and grill. Hookups are not available.

The campground is generally open mid April to early October. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, vault toilets, overflow parking and trash collection. There’s also a picnic/day use area at the campground and a boat ramp is also about 1.4 miles away. Firewood is available to purchase from the camp host. Cell service is poor in the area.

Fantastic campground! Clean, quiet and relaxing.
Campground manager was very nice and helpful, he worked very hard to make sure the grounds were clean and inviting. Overall one of the best experiences so far in Northern California. We will absolutely return again next year.
