Ponderosa Flat Overview

Ponderosa Flat Campground is located right next to beautiful Butt Reservoir and has 63 spacious campsites underneath towering pines. Campsites 33 to 60 are reservable and the rest are first-come first-served.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site has paved parking spur (up to 40 feet in length), table, food storage locker (bear box), fire ring and grill.

The campground is generally open early June to early October. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, vault toilets, overflow parking and trash collection. There’s also a picnic/day use area next to the campground and a boat ramp is also about 1.4 miles away. Firewood is available to purchase from the camp host. Cell service is poor in the area.

Ponderosa Flat Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, water sports, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, OHV trail riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

Cool Springs Campground is also 2 miles down the road and next to Butt Reservoir.
