Coyote Point Campground New Hogan Lake California
Coyote Point Overview
Coyote Point Campground is a spacious, large group campsite that can accommodate up to 50 guests. This campground resides directly next to New Hogan Lake. When full, the lake has 50 miles of shoreline and extends nearly 8 miles upstream. It is also in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The campground allows for tent, trailer, and RV camping. This site can accommodate up to 18 vehicles with a maximum length of 20ft. However, 60ft is the maximum length for trailers and RVs. Protective water shoes are helpful to have, as access to the lake can be rocky. Also, there is partial shade and some cell phone coverage. The campground is open from May 1st until September 30th.
Amenities at the Coyote Point campground include a large BBQ grill, picnic tables and shade structures for them, as well as vault restrooms. Also, there is potable water, a fire pit, and trash collection. Groceries, gas, and camping supplies are available in the nearby town of Valley Springs. The New Hogan Lake Marina offers boat, jet ski, and other watercraft rentals. The closest RV dump station is at Oak Knoll Campground (1mi northwest). It is part of the same New Hogan Lake recreation area. If the Oak Knoll dump station is unavailable, the next closest option is Acorn West Campground (1.5mi west).
