Northshore – Loon Lake Overview

Northshore Campground is located on the northern shore of beautiful Loon Lake at an elevation of 6,500 feet in the high-Sierra. The campground is generally open mid June to mid September and has 24 spacious campsites. Most sites are single-family (6 people / 2 vehicles), but a few are double-family (12 people/4 vehicles).

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site has a parking spur (up to 50 feet), table, fire ring and grill. Hookups are not available. Amenities include drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host.  Cell service is not available. A boat ramp and dump station are located over at Loon Lake Campground.

Northshore Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, OHV trail riding, horseback riding, stargazing, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

Other campgrounds in the area include Loon Lake, Red Fir, Yellowjacket, Wolf Creek and Wrights Lake.
