Yosemite Creek Overview

Yosemite Creek campground has about 75 single-family campsites best suited for tents (trailers & RVs not allowed) in a remote area of Yosemite National Park about an hour north of Yosemite Valley (off Highway 120). Accessing the campground is via a 5-mile, single-lane dirt road. Group campsites are also available. The campground needs a little TLC when these photos were taken in late 2024. Yosemite Creek flows through the campground but is pretty low by late summer.

Campground amenities include vault toilets and stream water (boil, filter or use iodine to treat). No potable water available. Each campsite also has a table, food locker (33″ deep x 45″ wide x 18″ high) and fire ring. Group sites also have 6 food lockers. Cell service is not available but there is a payphone at the campground (not sure if it works though). Be sure to bring bug spray and sunscreen, plenty of water, and dress in layers as the weather can rapidly change at this elevation.

Outdoor recreation in the area includes hiking, fishing, biking, backpacking, picnicking, stargazing and wildlife viewing. World famous Yosemite National Park offers spectacular scenery and amazing outdoor recreation including hiking, biking, kayaking, photography, climbing, horseback riding, nature exhibits, museums, camping and wildlife viewing.

Other Yosemite campgrounds in the area include Porcupine Flat, Tuolumne Meadows and White Wolf.
