Jacks Gulch Campground Arapaho & Roosevelt National Forests Pawnee NG Colorado

Unfortunately Jacks Gulch Campground was destroyed by the Cameron Peak Fire (2020). Hopefully it will be rebuilt in the future.

Jacks Gulch Overview

Jacks Gulch 001

Jacks Gulch Campground has 56 campsites (27 with electric hookups in Columbine Loop) in a forest of Ponderosa pine and a smidge of Aspen. Ten sites are walk-in tent only and 5 sites are for equestrian campers (each site has 4 stalls). Group camping is also available (with electric hookups). Only the equestrian and group sites are reservable, the rest of the single-family campsites are first come first serve.

Campground amenities include potable water/spigot, vault toilets and trash collection. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host, or you can pickup dead/down wood.  Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grill.

Other campgrounds in the area include Mountain Park, Stove Prairie and Narrows.

3 Comments on “Jacks Gulch”

  1. Terry Dengler says:

The campground is great, with large sites and great views. However, the road to Jack’s Gulch is terrible. It is all washboard and several areas are badly washed out.

  2. You might want to mention that Jacks Gulch Campground was overrun by the Cameron Peak fire and was destroyed. It is closed until such time as it can be rebuilt (hopefully). See https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/arp/recarea/?recid=36675 for more info.

    • Hi Dennis,
Thanks for the (unfortunate) info/update on Jacks Gulch Campground. We will include a note about that on the campground page. And yes, hopefully they will eventually rebuild it.
