Oh Be Joyful Overview

Oh Be Joyful Campgrounds is located along the Slate River and is 5 miles from Crested Butte, CO. There are 30 campsites (14 for RV/trailers and 15 walk-to tent sites).  One group campsite is also available. The popular campground is usually open late May through September and is usually full. Campsites are reservable.

Each campsite has a tale, fire ring, grate and food storage locker. Drinking water and electric hookups are not available, but there are 3 vault restrooms. Trash collection is also not available so please pack everything out with you.

The access road (BLM Road 3220) into Oh Be Joyful Campground is steep and can be rough. The campground can accommodate RVs but the rough road down to the campground may not be suitable for larger low clearance rigs. Trailer parking and overflow vehicle parking is also available.

Area Recreation and Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, backpacking, kayaking, mountain biking, ATVing, horseback riding, hunting, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Wildflowers are also abundant in the area. Oh Be Joyful creek is also nearby and features spectacular cascading waterfalls.
