Housatonic Meadows State Park Campground offers 95 campsites (and 4 cabins), on the shores of the Housatonic River. The camping season runs from early May to early September. It’s a popular area for fishing and particularly fly fishing. The campsites are set among tall pines trees and each campsite has a table, fire ring and grill. Additional park facilities include restrooms, showers, drinking water, gravel parking, and a pay telephone.

Note: Housatonic State Park does not allow alcohol in the State Park.

    This is a great park. Loved camping along the river. No hook ups but even at the end of July we did not miss the air conditioner. Very quiet during the week and fill on Friday. Had an awesome dinner with 9 through hikers from the AT. They recently removed 34 of the campsites from this park to make the sites bigger. There are now 61.

      Hi Brent,
      Housatonic State Park does not allow any alcohol in the State Park (so no beer or wine).

From the north/Great Barrington/Pittsfield, MA: Travel south on Route 7 into Sharon, CT. The park is located along Route 7 in the Town of Sharon, approximately 3 miles south of the West Cornwall Covered Bridge, and approximately 2 miles north of the intersection with Route 4. From the south/Greater Danbury: Travel north on Route 7 into Sharon, CT. The park is located along Route 7, approximately 2 miles north of the intersection with Route 4, and approximately 3 miles south of the West Cornwall Covered Bridge. From the east/Hartford: Travel west on I-84, and take Exit 39. Continue west on Route 4. From Cornwall Bridge (after crossing the Housatonic River), turn north on Route 7. The park is located in Sharon, CT, along Route 7, approximately 2 miles north of the intersection with Route 4.
