Sawnee Overview

Sawnee Campground has 43 campsites (with water & electric hookups) and has beautiful views of the aqua-blue colored water of Lake Sidney Lanier. There are also 5 walk-to (tent-only) campsites with water & electric hookups and 11 walk-to sites without hookups.

The campground is just north of Buford Dam and is generally open mid March to mid September. Amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot-water showers, laundry facilities, dump station and trash collection. There’s also a playground, boat ramp, boat trailer parking lot,  and sandy swim beach at the campground. Firewood is available to purchase from the camp host and cell coverage is good in the area.

Bald Ridge Creek and Van Pugh South campgrounds are also nearby.
