Indian Celina Lake Campground Hoosier National Forest Indiana

Indian Celina Lake Overview

Indian-Celina Campground South Slope Loop 026 Camping Area

Indian Celina Lake Campground has 63 spacious campsites in a forested area near Lake Celina in south-central Indiana. The campground has two loops – the North Face Loop (36 sites) and the South Face Loop (27 sites). The South Face Loop is closest to the lake but none of the campsites in either loop have water views. South Loop campsites have electric hookups and North Loop sites 27, 29, 31-36 have electric hookups. Sites 11-13 are ‘walk-to’ (50-80 feet), but have a parking sports.

The campground is generally open early April to late October. Amenities include water, vault and flush toilets, hot-water showers, a playground and trash collection. Boat ramps are open year-round, and an accessible fishing pier is also available on Celina Lake. Each site also has a paved parking spur, table, fire ring and grill.  Some cell service is available in the area. A dump station is also located near the campground (off-site).

Indian Celina Lake Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Indian and Celina lakes are two of four fishing lakes along Highway 37. The lakes offer many miles of shoreline and coves for fishing for pan fish.

The sandstone block, historic Rickenbaugh House was built in 1874 and is open to visitors periodically throughout the year. The home and adjacent historic cemetery are popular among visitors. A variety of hiking trails exist within the area, including the relatively easy, 1 mile Rickenbaugh Interpretive Trail, which is located behind the historic Rickenbaugh House. The Two Lakes Loop National Recreation Trail encircles both Indian and Celina lakes and winds through many acres of natural and peaceful forests. The trail is 16 miles, but can encompass multiple, shorter day hikes.
