St. Mary Campground Glacier National Park Montana
St. Mary Overview
St. Mary campground is the largest campground (151 campsites) on the east side of Glacier National Park and is open year round. Campsites can be reserved June 1 through September 1. Group camping is also available. It is located approximately one half mile west of the park boundary, near the town of St. Mary. Activities such as interpretive programs, book sales, and shuttle service tours are also located at the nearby St. Mary Visitor Center.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Shade is limited. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. Campground amenities include potable water, flush toilets and showers (in Loop C). There are also restaurants, gift shops, camp stores, gas and a grocery store nearby.
St. Mary – Area Recreation & Activities
Outdoor recreation in the area includes backpacking, hiking, horseback riding, fishing, boating, kayaking and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also very nice in the area.
Other campgrounds you may also like in Glacier National Park include Apgar, Avalanche, Fish Creek, Many Glacier, Rising Sun, Sprague Creek and Two Medicine.
