Vigilante campground has 14 campsites for tents, trailers and small RVs (up to 16 feet) close to Trout Creek. The campground is about 7 acres and set among a beautiful forest of tall pines. From here you can access the Hanging Valley National Recreation Trail and scenic Trout Creek Canyon Trail. Each campsite has a table, fire ring and grate. The campground has drinking water and vault toilets.

Our favorite Vigilante campsites are: 2, 4, 5, 8, 12, 14

Outdoor recreation activities includes hiking, backpacking, biking, fishing, hunting, OHV riding, horseback riding, picnicking, winter/snow sports and wildlife viewing.

Directions:

To reach Vigilante Campground follow Highway 280 east of Helena about 16 miles to the small community of York. Proceed northeast along Trout Creek Road another 8 miles to the end of the road and the campground.
