Buffalo Gap Overview
Buffalo Gap Campground has 36 campsites and is located in Dakota Prairie National Grasslands of western North Dakota.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. The campground is open year round and reservations are accepted late May to early September. First-come, first-served sites are available other times of the year. Amenities include water, flush toilets, a bathhouse (3 showers) and trash collection. There’s also a picnic area. Some cell service is available.
Buffalo Gap Campground – Area Recreation & Activities
Outdoor recreation includes hiking, birding, biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Buffalo Gap trail is a good day hike and you can add on the Maah Daah Hey trail to go further.
You might also like CCC Campground (about 76 miles to the north) up in the Badlands of North Dakota.
