Juniper (ND) Overview

Juniper Campground (North Unit) has 50 first-come first-serve campsites and is located next to the Little Missouri River in Theodore Roosevelt National Park.  Nine of the campsites are walk-to. Group camping is also available by reservation.

The campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVS. No hookups are available.  Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grill. Sites can accommodate up to 6 people and 2 vehicles.  Amenities include drinking water and flush toilets (vault in winter).

Theodore Roosevelt National Park – Juniper Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Theodore Roosevelt National Park is located in the badlands of western North Dakota. The Park offers a nice visitor center and a variety of outdoor recreation activities including backcountry camping, biking, horseback riding, wildlife viewing and cross-country skiing. You can also enjoy canoeing, kayaking and fishing on the Little Missouri River.

The town of Watford City is also nearby (15 miles north) and has shopping, restaurants and other amenities.

Cottonwood Campground and Roundup Group Horse Campground are also located at the Park. You might also like Grahams Island State Park in ND.
