Shadow Bay Overview

Shadow Bay Campground has 92 campsites (21 reservable) and is located at the north end of North Lake in a lower and wetter area than neighboring North Waldo and Islet Campgrounds. As a result, there are a bit more mosquitoes but fewer people that use the campground. Group camping is also available.

The seasonal campground is usually open early May to mid October.  Amenities include potable (drinking water), vault toilets and trash collection (dumpsters). There’s also a picnic/day-use area and boat ramp near the campground. Firewood is available to purchase from the friendly camp host. Cell service is not available.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (18 to 40 feet). Each site also has a parking spur table, fire ring and grill.  Hookups are not available.

A few other campground in the general area include North Waldo, Rock Creek, Islet, Little Cultus and Quinn River.

Shadow Bay – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating (electric motor only), canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, swimming, fishing, hiking,  horseback riding, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
