South Shore Group Overview

South Shore Group Campground has 3 group campsites located next to Haystack Reservoir. The group sites can accommodate up to 50 people and 25 vehicles per site.

Campsites area all right along the beach and can accommodate tents, trailers and large RVs.  Interior roads and site parking pads are paved. Each campsite also has a parking spur, table, fire ring and grate.

The seasonal campground is usually open March 1 to October 31. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, vault toilets and trash collection (dumpsters).  A boat ramp is also located over at Haystack West Shore Campground. Cell service is fair in the area.

South Shore Group Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the are includes boating, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, hunting, OHV trail riding and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also good in the area.
