Haystack (West Shore) Overview

Haystack (West Shore) Campground has 16 waterfront campsites and is located on the west shore of the Haystack Reservoir.

Campsites area all right along the beach and can accommodate tents, trailers and large RVs.  Interior roads and site parking pads are paved. Each campsite also has a parking spur, table, fire ring and grate.

The seasonal campground is usually open early March to late October. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, vault toilets and trash collection (dumpsters).  A boat ramp is also at the campground. Cell service is fair in the area.

The nearest RV dump station is about 6 miles west at The Cove Palisades State Park.

Haystack (West Shore) Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the are includes boating, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, hunting, OHV trail riding and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also good in the area.

You might also like Haystack East Shore, Perry South or Cove Palisades State Park. South Shore Group Campground also has 3 group sites (up to 50 people per site).
