Lock A Overview

Lock A Campground (Cheatham Lock & Dam) has 45 spacious campsites and is located right along the Cumberland River in northern Tennessee. It’s just upstream from the Cheatham Lock and Dam.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site has water and 50-amp electric hookups, a paved parking spur, table and fire ring.

The campground is generally open the first of April through October. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, restrooms (flush toilets), hot-water showers, trash collection and a dump station. There’s also a boat launch/ramp, playground, picnic shelter and swim beach. Cell service is good in the area.

Lock A Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation includes, boating, kayaking, swimming, fishing, water sports, hiking, biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.  The Pardue Pond and Dyson Ditch Wildlife Refuges are also on the other side of Cheatham lake. Both are excellent places for bird watching and exploring.

You night also like Anderson Road or Poole Knobs campgrounds over at J. Percy Priest Lake.
