Balsam Campground Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest Utah

Balsam Overview

Balsam Campground has 25 campsites located in a forested area along Hobble Creek in beautiful Hobble Creek Canyon. One group site is also available. Maple, fir and cottonwood trees forest the area, providing partial shade, beautiful fall color and some privacy between campsites.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Several sites are tent only and have a short walk from the parking area. Each campsite has a parking spurt, table, fire ring and grill.  Hookups are not available. The single-family sites can have up to 2 vehicles and 8 people. The group site can have up to 25 vehicles and 100 people.

The campground is open seasonally from around mid May to mid September. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, vault toilets and trash collection (dumpsters). Cell service is not available.

Balsam Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Rainbow and brown trout fishing are popular on Hobble Creek. A few hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding trails are also in the area.  Wildlife viewing and stargazing are also great.

Cherry Campground is also nearby (about 5.5 miles).
