Lucerne Overview

Lucerne Campground has 145 campsites (124 w/electric hookups) and is along the shore of Flaming Gorge Reservoir less than a mile south of the Wyoming/Utah border.  The campground is situated in a high desert landscape with sagebrush and a few scattered trees. Natural shade is minimal. Typical weather ranges from warm days to cool nights.

The large, recently renovated campground has 7 loops (A-G) and is generally open early May to mid September. Three group campsites are available in the G loop.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Most of the sites have electric hookups (30-50 amp). Loops A-D have electric hookups, a parking spur, table, fire ring and windbreak. Loop D has tent pads and shade cabanas. Loops E and F also have shade cabanas but no hookups.

Amenities include potable (drinking) water, flush toilets, showers, trash collection and a dump station. The Lucerne Marina is also nearby and has a store, boat rentals, fuel, slips, boat ramp, boat trailer lot and fish cleaning station. Cell service is good in the area.

Lucerne Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation includes boating, kayaking, paddle-boarding, fishing, water sports, swimming, hiking, biking, picnicking, stargazing and wildlife viewing.

Flaming Gorge Dam offers guided tours of the working hydroelectric plant and the dam itself; the adjacent visitor center contains area history exhibits.

Stateline Cove Campground which offers dispersed (first-come, first-served) beach camping next to Flaming Gorge Reservoir.
