Upper Onion Creek Group Site Overview

Upper Onion Creek Group Site has 2 nice group campsites located along the creek in a beautiful area of the Colorado River Basin The sites also have stunning views of Fisher Towers and Castle Valley.

The group campsites are large and private. Group site #A has horse corral/stalls.  Each group campsite also has a table, shade structure, fire ring and grate. Amenities include vault toilets, but no drinking water or hookups.

Upper Onion Creek single-family campsites are close to the group sites.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes OHVing, mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, rafting, kayaking, fishing, picnicking, stargazing and wildlife viewing. A boat ramp is also available down at Lower Onion Creek Campground. There is direct access to the Onion Creek four-wheel drive road. And if you’re into hiking, be sure to also work in a hike on the Fisher Towers trail. The town of Moab is about 40 minutes away and has dining, shopping, sports rentals, tour companies and museums.

Other campgrounds in the area include Lower Onion Creek and Fisher Towers.
